A True Clean Beauty

Before it became popular to embrace “clean beauty” and give back to nature, Chantecaille was already committed to the cause, some 20 years ago.

We don’t know what we love more:Chantecaille’s dedication to creating clean beauty products, or its unwavering commitment to Mother Nature (the brand develops products that support environmental conservation).

Founded by French-born Sylvie Chantecaille, the New York-based beauty brand started as a niche French fragrance house. Soon after, its founder decided to use it as a platform to launch high-quality natural skincare and makeup based on botanicals and cosmetics science technology. Right from the beginning, Sylvie Chantecaille knew she wanted to focus on natural products and aromatherapy that would not harm the environment, and – without realising it at the time – she kick-started the clean-beauty movement.

Clean beauty is an overarching term which covers products that are organic, natural, non-toxic, and/or ethical (vegan and/or cruelty-free). While it may be a huge trend now, with brands reformulating their products to omit certain ingredients, it has been a core pillar in Chantecaille for 20 years.

For example, the brand uses 71-100 per cent of high-concentrate botanical ingredients in its skincare products (rose water forms the base in most of them). Chantecaille is also the beauty industry’s pioneer of plantbased stem cell technology – the epitome of its devotion to clean beauty innovation.

Most of the luxury beauty brand’s products are veganfriendly, paraben-free and crueltyfree. Many also do not contain phthalates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, palm oil, mineral oils, sulphates, detergents, petrolatum and GMOs. This is a remarkable feat unmatched by many others in the challenging, ever-changing beauty industry. In the true spirit of clean beauty,Chantecaillenot only supports nature with veganfriendly and cruelty-free products, but also actively gives back to the world. It has been supporting the efforts of philanthropic organisations and conservation groups such as Conservation Northwest, Space for Giants, the Reefs of Hope Project, The Humane Society of the United States, and Lion Guardians, with limited-edition makeup collections.
