When it comes to a beauty company supporting breast cancer awareness, the Estee Lauder Companies has taken the lead since 1992 with its annual global Breast Cancer Campaign. In Singapore, proceeds from the sale of its pink-ribbon products go to the Breast Cancer Foundation (Singapore). And for every Instagram post with #timetoendbreastcancer and #unitedinhopesg, the company will donate $5 to support the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) breast cancer research team.

THE BRIEF, BREAST FACTS
Somewhere in the world, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 15 seconds, says a 2018 global cancer statistics report. It is the leading cancer in women.
In Singapore, 1 in every 10 women who go to their doctor with a breast lump is diagnosed with breast cancer.
But it is one of the most curable cancers when detected early. In a 2017 Singapore Cancer Registry report, women diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer had a fiveyear survival rate of 90 per cent, while those diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer had a fiveyear survival rate of 80 per cent.
So, don’t be lazy about your monthly breast checks, and see your doctor if you find any suspicious lumps. If you’re above 40, add an annual mammogram to your regular health checks as well.
