THE ’90S INSPIRED POWER POUT

The decade of grunge and Clueless is undergoing its biggest resurgence, though much of its beauty influence remains questionable (skinny brows? Never again). Urban Decay (UD) Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss (this page, $30 each) and Dior Addict Lacquer Plump (opposite, $50 each) combine three lip trends from the era: highly pigmented colour ranging from crimson to unexpected hues like violet (Dior) and gold (UD); fun finishes like metallic (UD) and glitter (both); and a sheen that leaves a fuller, Liv Tyler-esque pout. Like a Demna Gvasalia collection, the result is surprisingly current and statement-making when paired with barely made-up skin. The inclusion of nourishing ingredients, like hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, means they won’t leave puckers dry the way the ones in the ’90s did – SK
