BOARDING CALL
Singapore’s Changi Airport is consistently ranked the best airport in the world, year after year. Here’s another record the airport can add to its bag of triumphs: Having the world’s first and only duty-free Saint Laurent store. Located within Terminal 2, the compact boutique only stocks men’s and women’s accessories, but it’s still worth a quick visit to check out the Parisian label’s latest offerings—even when you’re running late for your plane.

FLOWER POWER
“I grew up near a very large lake [in Montreal] that was very beautiful—it’s perhaps where I gained an appreciation for flowers and nature. Yves Saint Laurent opened my eyes to how important it is for a designer to experiment and have a signature that’s always yours. He created an amazing language that is still very influential. I find his of print, colour, and femininity very inspiring. When I was a student, anything related to him excited me. I remember seeing the retrospective of his work in the Petit Palais in Paris. That Russian collection was so bright it almost looked electric. I try to approach romance at my label by exploring contrasts. For every aspect that is feminine, I try to contradict it with something masculine. I think contradiction and juxtaposition are what make romance work in a modern way. My goal has always been to make pieces that feel special and unique, and in turn, they make women feel beautiful. Being assertive needs to start with really knowing what you want and believing in what you are doing. I think then determination and perseverance naturally follow.”
