My Reading Room

Frank Xiong, CEO of Aquila’s shipyard Sino Eagle Group, said: “This is an exciting and momentous occasion for us. From the very beginning, we felt the Aquila Power Catamarans were the best in the world, and we have been excited to be a part of the team designing and building them. We look forward to surpassing this milestone and continuing to celebrate many more.”

Meanwhile, the company has also collaborated with Mercury Marine to offer a joystick piloting application for Aquila 36 with engines 9ft 6in apart. The easy-to-use interface provides 360-degree fingertip control over the boat’s steering and propulsion, to simplify docking a boat and manoeuvring at low speeds in a marina.

Rob Hack barth, Mercury Marine Category Director, said: “Joystick Piloting for Out boards has been a very popular feature for dual, triple and quad applications. Now working with Aquila, we were given the opportunity to install a joystick piloting on a power catamaran. This will allow the boater to feel the power of the Verado engines, but to also enjoy the ease of boating with joystick piloting.”
