BENETTI HAS announced the sale of its fourth Mediterraneo 116’ (BM004), which was sold to a Hong Kong businessman through Benetti Asia with the support of Asia Yacht Management Company (AYM).
The delivery of the 35.5m yacht is scheduled for March 2019 and will be the fourth new Benetti build in the past 12 months for an Asian client.
The new Hong Kong owner is buying a Benetti for the first time and signed the contract in July following several meetings with Benetti Asia and AYM. The vessel will cruise the Mediterranean for her first season before moving to Hong Kong.
Christos Ramnialis, General Manager of Benetti, said: “We are very excited with the commission of BM004 to be a new addition to our Asia fleet. With the emerging popularity of superyachts in Asia, we are very confident of achieving more in this market.”
Giorgio M. Cassetta Design was responsible for the yacht’s exterior lines, while the interiors are customised to the owner’s preferences. Like her three 116ft sisters, the yacht can house up to 10 guests in four VIP cabins on the lower deck and a full-beam owner’s apartment on the main deck.
Michael Tao, Director of AYM, said: “Our client signed a contract with Benetti for a Mediterraneo 116’ after a successful visit in mid July to the Viareggio Shipyard in Italy. Together with Rossella de Luzio, Paolo Bartoli and Claudio Corvino of Benetti’s design, project and marketing team, we came up with various solutions that happily satisfied our client’s dream of choosing a Benetti Mediterraneo 116’ as his second yacht.
“AYM has successfully searched for the right yacht to meet our client’s overall requirements, then proceeded to assist the client in planning the GA (general arrangements) with the shipyard, choosing the right equipment appropriate for this region and fulfilling their needs in making the yacht their second home.”
