HW ENDORSES: SG-INSPIRED NAIL WRAPS BY NODSPARK

What makes us Singaporean?

Portrait of Tammy Strobel

What makes us Singaporean? For Nodspark founder Eugenia Ye-Yeo, it’s a combo that includes food (like White Rabbit sweets and bubble tea), orchids and old-school playgrounds (yes, that dragon).

She’s so inspired by our local icons that she’s designed nail wraps out of them. Every August since 2018, Nodspark has rolled out a collection of four SG-inspired designs to mark National Day. Work on the designs usually starts in March, with some hitting up to 15 drafts each.

The designs for 2020, as you’ll see on this page, are focused on gem biscuits, orchids and two batik designs in collaboration with local modern batik clothes boutique Yeomama. On the next page are Nodspark’s SG-inspired designs from previous years. All designs cost $15 a pack, at www.nodspark.com

THIS YEAR’S N-DAY DESIGNS:

1 & 2 Orchid Batik and Rainbow Parang: a double collab with Yeomama, featuring heritage designs.

3 Orchids in My Window: inspired by the Vanda Miss Joaquim

4 Fancy Gems: Yeo’s second tribute to the beloved snack.
