With so many ways to mix, match or stack your Coco Crush earrings, rings and bracelets, the art of ornamentation according to Chanel deserves its own language. The Maison has thoughtfully compiled a whimsical lexicon to help you identify the various combinations and pairings for this jewellery collection, dedicated to the House’s emblematic quilt pattern. The idiosyncratic definitions are not meant to be a prescriptive guide on how to wear these pieces—because in the Chanel Fine Jewellery universe, this dictionary is not a lesson in style, but a lesson in choice. And the choice is entirely yours to make. How will you wear your Coco Crush? Here are three ways.

My Reading Room

FLYING CLOUD: The name comes from the luxury yacht that belonged to Coco Chanel’s lover Hugh Grosvenor, the second Duke of Westminster. It is also the name given to a stack of jingling bracelets that echo the sound of steel cables clinking against a ship’s mast.

TRIO: A charismatic threesome of rings in any combination of different golds—a cheeky allusion to the ménage à trois of Chanel’s muse Misia, her artist husband José Maria Sert and his mistress Roussy Mdivani.
