THE EFFORTLESS MIDDLE PART

For a good while, wearing one’s tresses slick and perfectly centre parted has been a sign of modern femininity. The simplicity says you’re no fuss, while the sleekness says you’re still photo-ready (see Kendall Jenner on the red carpet). This updated version from the runways of Louis Vuitton and Valentino (above) is considerably less precious. Like the hair version of no-makeup makeup, it does call for some work: blow-dry, smooth in leave-in conditioner or lightweight serum casually, then gently spritz with finishing spray to hold some texture. Flattering on most face shapes, it’s Kendall off duty. – SK
