Popular skincare lines are like the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise – their makers can remake, extend or further distil existing products many times over, and fans will clamour for every new release. Expect the same with the newcomers to Dior’s and Lancome’s signature youth-preserving collections. The former grows its mix-and-match Capture Youth line of cream and treatments that debuted a year ago with the Intense Rescue-Age Delay Revitalizing Oil-Serum. Its trio of argan oil, fatty acids and antioxidant-rich iris florentina promises to strengthen skin’s barrier function, restore lipid content and stimulate cell regeneration, making it the reparative one in the family. (Like its sibling serums, it can be blended with others or layered under moisturiser.) Meanwhile, Lancome has been rolling out Absolue, an upgraded and renamed version of its luxurious Precious Cells range, since last September. This month, it completes it with the introduction of a gel cleanser, eye cream and eye serum, all said to have hydrating, rejuvenating and refining properties thanks to the brand’s superhero ingredient, Grand Rose Extract that draws from the damask, centifolia and Lancome rose. – SK
