A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

Close your eyes… take three deep breaths and relax. All around the world, people are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, demonstrating just how fragile humans really are. Some of us are still under quarantine, some are now free to move about like it’s completely “normal”, while some are still deep in the throes of the second (or third) wave of the virus. It’s a war we are all fighting and while a vaccine is in the horizon, we are still a long way from conquering our collective enemy. Till then, the freedom to be out in the open—an act of courage is a luxury we cannot take for granted. It took a global lockdown for many of us to treasure what we see outside of our windows. Which brings me to the theme of this issue: Bravery.

Getting the cover shoot done in LA was a task in itself—the lockdown in America makes shoots practically impossible. But the final results, all shot in the great outdoors, are simply stunning. Read all about the adventure on page 24 and then see the pictures on page 122. We took on an act of courage ourselves when we decided to revamp our magazine (and website too, come mid-August). Crazy, really, when you consider that everyone is still working from home and that editing the magazine remotely is still novel to us. But I felt that our pages needed to be refined and adapted to what a magazine means to our reader and community today.

On the design front, we made the pages more dynamic, with cool font play and bold graphic elements. Content-wise, we upped the shopping quotient so that you find a curation of the very best items for your wardrobe. We added “A Fashionable Life” (page 105) as a regular monthly section: With all of us spending more time at home, these stylish women’s homes will serve as great inspo. We introduced “BAZAAR Man” (page 95) as well, which will be fronted by a celebrity every month; this month showcases sultry hunk Kim Jung-Hyun from Netflix’s runaway hit Crash Landing on You. We also added more shopping options in “Jewels & Watches” (page£80) as well as introduced a regular well-being feature in our “Beauty” section (page 114). All in all, we packed the magazine with lots more offerings to truly give you a complete and holistic look into the fashionable life of a BAZAAR woman.

Our redesigned website, meanwhile, is a breeze to navigate, easy on the eye and packed with£all the best fashion news, beauty tips, royalty gossip and fabulous videos to keep you informed and entertained for hours. I hope you’ll enjoy the 360-degree experience of BAZAAR as we£celebrate 19£years in Singapore and prep for our big 20 next year. This stylish teenager is finally all grown up.
