1 Stop wearing your clothes the way they’re supposed to be worn
Common sense has told us that jackets should be worn firmly on our shoulders with our arms in the sleeves. Fashion sense, however, says otherwise. To score extra style points, look a little less done up by wearing your jacket in alternative ways as seen on the left. This way, you get to showcase your outfit underneath and/or flash a little skin.

2 The outside is what really counts
You can call it a feminist movement, but designers have been taking the sexy gaze off lingerie and putting a fashion spin on them, layering corsets over blazers and bras over tees. What better way to say “I woke up like this” than to look like you absently threw on your clothes as you rushed out the door?

3 Don’t be afraid to keep things casual
Even a Vogue-approved look will look awkward if you don’t feel like yourself in it. Dress down your cocktail gown with ballet flats if you hate heels or leave the straps of your top undone if you prefer them dangling. The idea is to keep your outfit unfussy yet unmistakably you.
