Curious Palette

This hipster haven is the brainchild of the team behind Strangers’ Reunion, so you can expect some pretty fantastic coffee. In celebration of their first anniversary, the cafe has also added some new items to their menu. Try the Crab Cake on English Muffin, $19.50, which beautifully marries the juicy crab meat with purple sweet potato mayo slaw, served with a pan-fried sous vide egg and sweet potato fries on the side. Or if you prefer something sweet, old favourites like Buttermilk Waffles, from $11.50, and Ricotta Hotcakes, from $14.90, are still on the menu. We’ll excuse you for whipping your phones out for brunch here – the natural light streaming into the cafe makes for some amazing photos, no filters needed.

Curious Palette is at 64 Prinsep Street.

Tiong Bahru Bakery

If you find yourself too hungover from the shenanigans of Saturday night, scoot your butt over to Tiong Bahru Bakery’s Raffles City Shopping Centre branch, where they’re serving up their newly-launched hot food menu. If you’re feeling ravenous, The Breakfast Pancake Burger, $18 – breakfast sausage, bacon, cheddar cheese and an egg slapped between two pieces of fluffy pancakes drenched in maple syrup – hits all the right spots with its explosion of sweet and savoury flavours. Need something heavier to line your stomach with? The Great TBB Fry Up, $20, is your answer, with Irish pork sausage, crispy fried bread, potatoes, sweet onion jam, fresh chimichurri and eggs. Or, if you’re feeling guilty for all the abuse you’ve put your body through the night before, make things right with the super-healthy, super-colourful Rainbow Rice Bowl, $16, which comprises all sorts of good-for-you ingredients, like brown and wild rice, poached organic egg, spicy pineapple kimchi, purple potato crisps and mixed sprouts.

The hot food menu is only served at Tiong Bahru Bakery’s Raffles City Shopping Centre branch, #B1-11/12.

boCHINche

Tired of the usual brunch fare? Switch things up at Argentinean restaurant boCHINche, where they’re dishing out some serious beef, never mind that it’s barely noon. Brunch is served every weekend, from 11am to 3pm, and you can expect hearty dishes like the Beef and Bone Marrow Burger, $29, which comes with grilled tomatoes, onions, pickles, chimichurri and a sunny-side up; and Grilled Chorizo, $23, with capers and burnt tomato salad. Don’t worry, there’s stuff for the less carnivorous too – the Faina and Fried Eggs, $22, will sit well with people who love smashed avocado on toast, while the Pancakes with dulce de leche, mascarpone cream, crumble, and maple syrup will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.

boCHINche is at #01-02, 115 Amoy Street.
