Take a page from Gisele Bündchen on how to stay eternally youthful.
Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen looks just as stunning at 39 as she did at 25, proving that age is just a number.

A current photo of supermodel Gisele Bündchen can be faux dated 2005 and you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference, for the Brazilian beauty looks as though she’d barely aged a day. While it can be attributed to her good genes, Bündchen will have you know that it is a conscious lifestyle change—paired with good skincare, of course—that has played a key role in her ever-youthful visage. The face of Dior’s new Capture Totale C.E.L.L. Energy range (available from January 2020) opens up on her relationship with the French house, ageing gracefully and how living a mindful life is the way to staying young (and young at heart).
Share with us what you love about the house of Dior.
As an advocate for sustainability in the beauty and fashion industries, I admire when brands make a conscious effort to recognise the impact they have on the environment. Dior has cut down on packaging waste and has started using natural resources, respecting our skin as an organ that needs to be nourished with non-toxic green ingredients. If more brands start to optimise their production processes and make them more sustainable, like Dior has, it will have a great impact in our world.
What was your favourite part of the new campaign?
It was being able to share the experience with my mother and being featured alongside her. To me, she embodies what it means to be beautiful and loving. Beauty is ageless and this campaign effortlessly conveys that.
Tell us more about your views on age and ageing.
Time does seem like it’s flying by! I love life and cherish every moment. I’ve enjoyed all the different phases of life so far and I feel that ageing is just a natural process. I just pray that I can continue to have my health so I can be here for a very long time and do everything I can to make the world a better place.

What’s your daily skincare routine like?
My daily skincare routine is pretty simple, since I don’t wear makeup when I’m working from home. My main focus is hydration, which starts with a gentle cleanser. I usually follow with a serum and a moisturiser to keep my face hydrated throughout the day.
You’re an advocate of wellness, particularly yoga and meditation. Do you draw any parallels between wellness and skincare?
Wellness is about taking care of yourself, and taking time to reflect in order to learn more about yourself and what brings you balance. And taking care of yourself includes taking care of your skin. The better you feel about yourself, the more confident you become.
Do you think inner balance has a role to play in outer beauty?
Inner balance is key to outer beauty; with inner balance comes maturity and confidence. When you’ve found balance and a sense of self, it certainly shows on the outside.
How do you maintain a well-balanced life?
Maintaining balance in life takes work, focus, determination and discipline. It’s essential to take time for yourself and reflect. By taking a holistic approach to wellness, and focusing on exercise, healthy eating, meditation and nurturing yourself, I believe that you can build a balanced life.
Any wellness tips to share?
I always recommend finding a wellness regimen that feels right to you. For me, yoga, meditation and (focused) breathing have changed my life. Yoga allows me to stay centred, while meditation has brought so much peace to my life, allowing me to reflect, rebuild and realign. Breathing, specifically pranayama breathing, has served as the best medicine; it’s incredibly calming and rejuvenating.
