GERMAN GIANT LURSSEN had a busy month recently, launching the 74m Aurora on March 11, the Asia-destined 120m-plus Project Thunder on April 3 and the 85m Areti on April 10.

Project Thunder – a name derived from Leigong, a mythical god in Asian culture – will be delivered towards the end of 2018 and is expected to cruise mostly in Asia.

Espen Oeino designed the black-hulled motor yacht, which launched from the floating dock just 24 months after her keel was laid in 2015. The traditionally styled interior will be installed in the coming months before the yacht undergoes extensive sea trials.

Winch Design was responsible for the exterior and interior of both Areti (Project Sasha) and Aurora (Project Gatsby), which both have more traditionally coloured white hulls.

The 85m Areti has a sleek and contemporary exterior, a 14.8m beam and eight cabins, plus private exterior decks.

A luxurious spa on the aft lower deck accommodates a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and full-depth plunge pool, and is part of the outdoor beach club. Delivery is scheduled for this summer.

The six-deck, 74m Aurora has a 13m beam and features a classic exterior by Winch. Moran Yacht & Ship sold the project and managed the build of the yacht, which is scheduled to be delivered in early summer.
