BAZAAR caught up with TAG Heuer brand ambassador and supermodel, Bella Hadid, at the brand’s exclusive party in Kuala Lumpur,where she spoke on self-love, stress management and treasured timepieces. By Gracia Phang
What is a fond watch memory you have? My father introduced me to the world of watches—he was never without one on his wrist. He taught me that every piece is an art, and it is important to understand how much eff ort and time goes into crafting each exquisite timepiece.
What is your favourite timepiece? The TAG Heuer Bella Hadid Link watch: It’s elegant and classic with a touch of glitz. I don’t change watches very often; this goes with everything and can take me from day to night.
How does TAG Heuer’s “Don’t Crack Under Pressure” motto apply to you? I’m in an industry with a very pressurising system, and it’s easy to break down. I always try to be mentally and emotionally strong, and take time for myself to refocus. Most importantly, I’ve got a great support system; people around me who keep me centred and grounded.
What does time mean to you? It’s a blessing; time means you’re alive. Use it respectfully and wisely.
If you could travel back in time, what would you say to your younger self? Don’t be afraid to be f? Don’t be afraid to be comfortable I was, and yourself. I wish I could’ve been comfortable and confident in the person I was, and followed through with things that I loved doing. Everything happens for a reason; what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Favourite time of the day? 11:30am on a Saturday when I’m not working. I’d be in bed watching television. These days, it’s just so special to wake up and have nothing planned.
What do you usually do five minutes before stepping out of the house? Look for my lip gloss and keys, because out of the house? Look for m they’re usually misp of ginger, cayenn they’re usually misplaced. I will also take a shot of ginger, cayenne and lemon to kick-start the day. Of course, I’d give my boyfriend [singer, The Weeknd] a big smooch.
Who would Who would you consider your ultimate tag team? My best friend, Fanny, my sister and my and my mother.
