The average person burns about 238 calories an hour while walking, so if you’re simply strolling while catching Pokémon, it’s unlikely you’ll see a huge difference in your body. However, if you amp it up to a power walk at a speed of about seven to nine kilometres per hour, you can burn about 564 calories an hour. And here’s more good news: according to research from the University of Virginia, power walking can be an effective tool for shedding some fats – especially the stubborn abdominal ones.
