Marking its 40th anniversary this year, Asia- Pacific Boating magazine will be exhibiting in Cannes for the 14th straight year.

The Festival’s organisers will unveil an area kept private previously and only known to members of the select VIP Club – La Terrasse. Situated on the roof of the Palais des Festivals, it boasts a panoramic view of the old port and its yachts, the bay of Cannes, Croisette and the Lérins Islands. The area will showcase luxury brands presenting the latest products and expertise (cars, watches, jewellery, gastronomy, tableware, private aviation, leather goods and design).

Exclusively open to exhibitors, Owners and collectors of boats of 12 metres or less, the Concours d’Elégance takes place in the Vieux Port free-of-charge alongside the VIP pontoon and the Festival’s beach area. Nautical enthusiasts and Owners exhibit their boats in front of a jury presided over by Cannes Yachting Festival President Annette Roux.

Following on from the parade, there is a ceremony at the VIP Club, where awards will be handed out by the Festival’s partners – Frédérique Constant, Studio Harcourt Paris, Louis Roederer, Lise Charmel, Foglizzo & Skippers Motor.

THE 26TH EDITION OF the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is the start of a new 25-year cycle at the four-day luxury showcase of around 560 world-leading yachting companies from 38 countries.

Sponsored by Ulysse Nardin and benefiting from the recognition and the support of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the show will display 121 superyachts as well as 40 luxury tenders and water toys. Forty new launches will also be unveiled in world premieres.

Exhibitors include Amels, Codecasa, Ferretti Group, CRN, Azimut | Benetti, Oceanco, Heesen, Feadship, Abeking & Rasmussen, Lürssen, Princess Yachts, Sunseeker, Majesty Yachts, Sunreef, Perini Navi, designers, charter companies, and related suppliers of superyacht equipment and water toys.

“The Monaco show remains the place to be whether you’re looking to step onboard this year’s finest superyacht offerings or discover the most ground-breaking and tailor-made products and services that make luxury yachting the ultimate art of life,” says MYC Managing Director Gaëlle Tallarida.

This year will witness the new partners for Upper Deck Lounge – Dassault Aviation, Glyn Peter Machin, Lanson and Preciosa – and they will be situated in a special exhibition area. B2B and B2C activities will be expected to entertain the guests also.

With an average attendance of 34,000 professional visitors, business decision-makers and high-net-worth clients from around the world, Port Hercules becomes the international hub of superyacht business during the four days.

The organisers will launch an exhibition space dedicated to highquality vehicles – the Car Deck. Installed on Quai Rainier III, the Car Deck will offer visitors and exhibitors access to a 230sqm indoor barlounge, while outside prestige cars will be on display that are available for purchase or a test drive.

The advertising campaign this year – the Sapphire Experience – targets high-end Chinese customers and promotes upscale yachting experiences. An app is being launched in the summer exclusively for the show, facilitating the booking of tickets, providing interactive maps and enabling visitors to share their experience on various social media platforms.

Inflatable products company FunAir has also signed a three-year partnership deal to supply its products for the Monaco Yacht Show Captain and Crew Lounge starting from the 26th edition.

THE SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW in Australia is the largest recreational marine event in the southern hemisphere – with more than 220 exhibitors across two venues, 145 boats in the purpose-built marina, 700 boats in the halls, 24,800sqm (266,900sqft) of hall space full of exhibits.

Since the first edition in 1968, the show has played host to over three million visitors who arrive to be entertained, educated and inspired by the wonderful pastime of boating. 

The show caters for trade and business-to-business interaction, as well as high-end consumers planning to purchase a boat. Businesses exhibiting include those in manufacturing, wholesale, import/export and retail of products that relate to boating for recreational, sporting or light commercial purposes.

During the show, Multihull Solutions will unveil the new Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40, which over 80 were sold since its launch in late-2015, and also showcase the MY37 motor yacht to satisfy power enthusiasts.

GENOA BOAT SHOW

FOR THE 56TH EDITION of the Mediterranean’s largest boat show, the Genoa Boat Show is partnering with Italy’s largest food and beverage marketplace Eataly and will take place at Fiera di Genova (piazzale Kennedy) in the week before the Monaco Yacht Show.
More than 1,000 boats will be displayed including sailing, outboards and inflatables, powerboats and motor yachts. The latest products from the Italian and international nautical industry will be showcased along a refurbished path with new docks and reserved areas.
The latest products in the open sea will be displayed in the six-day show and visitors can get involved with challenges and events such as the Big Game Tournament, where sports-fishing fans can board boats and measure their skills with cutting-edge equipment. Excitement is also guaranteed for lovers of diving, swimming, rowing, canoeing and surfing.
Also present at the show will be the Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) crews. Sailing fans can admire the boats that took part in the world’s toughest regatta, board a reproduction VOR boat, or experience the same emotions of the regatta in an interactive installation. salonenautico.com
