Hair falls flat by lunchtime? You could be using high heat settings on your dryer. While higher heat settings can accelerate drying time, prolonged use of extreme heat makes your scalp more sensitive and damages hair follicles, leaving hair brittle and thin.

However, it’s not all gloom and doom for the time-strapped. You can still achieve salon-worthy blow-outs in record time and without harming your crowning glory. British electronics brand Dyson has launched new and improved attachments for its Supersonic hair-dryer and Airwrap hair-styler. These game-changing hair tools help accelerate drying and styling time, and also enhance your overall hairstyling experience.

In August this year, we flew to Seoul to meet Korean celebrity hairstylist Park Jehee (her clientele includes K-stars like Lee Hae Young and Blackpink’s Jennie) who shared tips for achieving fullerlooking hair with the help of the new Dyson attachments:

Tip 1: Start from the roots

Give lifeless locks a lift by blowdrying from the roots before aiming the nozzle downwards to help close hair cuticles for a smooth and shiny finish, Jehee says. Use Dyson’s new Gentle Air Dryer attachment that goes on the Supersonic — it generates a softer and more diffused airflow, which lowers the temperature that hits your scalp, all without compromising on drying speed and power.

Tip 2: Use a diffuser

It’s the secret to Korean celebrities’ natural, bouncy curls, says Jehee. If you have permed or naturally wavy hair, a diffuser helps define waves and curls while minimising frizz. The re-engineered diffuser for the Dyson Supersonic hair-dryer distributes air much more evenly for quick and precise drying – without scalding your scalp or drying out hair. To create even more volume, you can hold it close to your scalp over areas that tend to look flat (such as the crown), and then twist the nozzle slightly.

Tip 3: Create natural waves

Long, straight hair can weigh down tresses, making it look flat and sometimes, difficult to style. Give it a volume boost by adding waves with the Dyson Airwrap styler — it now comes with longer barrels for faster drying and curling. For best results, start with damp hair, then set your hair by pressing the cool shot button for five seconds to finish.
