"Amber Heard"

Unlike celebrities who have an entire team to help them get ready before a big event, most of us can’t even spare the time to go down to a salon for a trim – but there’s an easy way to look put together. The new Dyson Airwrap can help you curl or straighten with ease.

CURLS GALORE

Tightly curled hair might bring up some memories of awful ’80s hairdos, but we love the updated look seen on Amber Heard. Apply styling mousse to damp hair before blow-drying with the Dyson Airwrap’s Pre-Styling Dryer attachment to help hold the curls. Use the 30 mm Barrel and start by curling a small section at a time until all your hair is curled. Loosen the curls by running your fingers through your hair. Section hair into two parts – top and bottom – and gather hair into a half pony tail. Secure with bobby pins and you’re good to go!

"Sandra Bullock"

SLEEK MOVES

Shoulder-length hair can be frustrating to style as they can get unruly near the ends, but Sandra Bullock keeps her mane looking smooth with a few styling tricks. Apply a de-frizzing serum to damp hair and blow dry with the Dyson Pre-Styling Dryer attachment. Then, use the Dyson Soft Smoothing Brush attachment, working your way down and curling inwards as you approach the ends of your hair.

CLASSIC CURLS

Longer hair has the tendency to look flat due to the weight, but you can always remedy that with a bit of volume near the roots. If you have long hair like Park Min Young, use the Dyson Round Brush attachment near the roots to lift hair, then use the 40 mm Barrel to curl hair near the roots for an airy, classic ’do.

THE HEAT IS ON

• There are two types of heat styling – wet and dry – which corresponds to the dampness of your hair when you start styling it. You should never use dry-heat styling products like flat iron and curling tongs on damp hair as it will heat up and dry out hair from the inside out, leaving it damaged and frizzy.

• Temperature is key as you have to balance between maintaining a hair style without damaging hair strands. As the engineers at Dyson have found out, the optimum temperature is below 150 C as anything more than that would cause damage to hair. This is why the Dyson Airwrap has intelligent heat control which measures airflow temperature over 40 times per second to ensure that hair is never overheated.

• Although heat is often used to manipulate hair strands into your desired style, don’t forget to finish off with a shot of cold air to seal in the style, and to stop hair from being heated longer than necessary.
