The Timewalker collection, previously labelled as Montblanc’s casual, slightly athletic range, has taken on a more solidly sporty feel inspired by vintage auto racing.

This means you can expect a lot more chronographs in masculine designs and colours coming to this collection in the future, but here are two to start you off with.

The first is the Timewalker Chronograph Automatic in red gold – a straightforward, highly legible chronograph powered by the MB 25.07, which beats at 4Hz and comes with a power reserve of 46 hours. Details like the knurled bezel edge and pushers, perforated strap options and the smoked glass caseback (meant to be reminiscent of the windows that cover V12 engines) all allude to the automotive style.

Its more complicated sibling, the Timewalker ExoTourbillon Minute Chronograph Limited Edition 100, is the first Exotourbillon for the Timewalker family. For the uninitiated, Montblanc’s “Exotourbillon” is essentially a tourbillon without a cage, allowing greater efficiency and the use of a larger balance. The MB R230 movement is housed in the 44mm black and red case, and the latter is made of typical high-performance materials like titanium, carbon fibre and DLC.
