In honour of international women’s day, we ask three leaders to share what makes them tick, their passions, and what time means to them.
IN HONOUR OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY, WE ASK THREE LEADERS TO SHARE WHAT MAKES THEM TICK, THEIR PASSIONS, AND WHAT TIME MEANS TO THEM.
Not only are these women making waves in their professions, they have also perfected the fine art of balancing work with their personal lives, and making the world a better place for other women. They tell us how they manage that priceless commodity – time – and what their dream Patek Philippe watch would be.

Trina Liang-Lin,
President of the Singapore Committee for UN Women.
Talk about a powerhouse multi-tasker. Not only is Trina Liang- Lin one of Singapore’s most prominent feminists, she is also the managing director of investment research consultancy Templebridge Investment. And as president of the Singapore Committee for UN Women, she has spearheaded important initiatives with her team, including the He for She campaign that “seeks to get the buy-in and support of men and boys to support women in their quest for gender equality”, and the Bamboo Project in Cambodia that helps women and their families operate a sustainable enterprise by producing bamboo handicrafts.
Considering her multiple responsibilities, it is no surprise that Trina, who is also a fixture on the high-society circuit, demands nothing but the best from a timepiece. “My watch must be functional, yet be able to take me from work to evening events,” says the 45-year-old. She does not own a Patek Philippe watch, but reveals that her husband has two, and her best friend just bought one last Christmas. “So perhaps it’s just a matter of time!” she declares.
She says the Patek Philippe she is most likely to choose would be the Nautilus. This elegant, sporty timepiece has become sought after for its versatility and elegance. Embodying enduring qualities of classic yet modern design, combined with fine, technical craftsmanship, it’s no wonder that it’s a Patek Philippe watch that she would be proud to wear.
LIKE THE FEA TURES OF THE FACE, A WATCH SHOULD BE IN HARMONY WITH YOUR LOOK AND FIT AS A WHOLE INTO YOUR PERSONAL SENSE OF S TYLE.

Dr Karen Soh,
Founder and medical director of Prive Clinic.
As a successful medical doctor with an interest in aesthetics, and a mother of four children, Dr Karen Soh considers time her most precious commodity. “To have time to spend with my family, to work and to lead a purposeful life – I treasure each moment and make the best of it. I’m not one to waste time; I plan my schedule efficiently,” she says.
To keep things running like clockwork, Dr Soh relies daily on her six-year-old ticker, a rose gold and diamond Aquanaut which she bought to commemorate the opening of her clinic. She explains: “It’s practical and light. The fact that it has a rubber strap is very important because as a doctor, I wash my hands often.” Not one for complications, she prefers simple watches, albeit with a bit of sparkle, to tell the time and date. She currently has her eye on the platinum Calatrava whose bezel is set with 38 baguette diamonds.
Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 6002G-001 in white gold.
“PATEK PHILIPPE REMINDS ME OF FAMILY, GIFTING AND WONDERFUL MEMORIES.”
Beatrice Chia-Richmond,
FLY Entertainment artiste.
Director and actress Beatrice Chia- Richmond is a trailblazer in the theatre and entertainment scenes. In 2011, she became the first female creative director of Singapore’s National Day Parade, and will be reprising the role for this year’s spectacle.
Living so much in the public eye, she draws her greatest strength and inspiration from her family, particularly her eightyear- old son Sol, who is “the funniest, most wonderful boy I know”.
“I’d love to be able to gift a Celestial Grand Complication to my son. It would feel like I was giving him the universe on his hand,” the sentimental mum adds. For herself, she desires the Sky Moon Tourbillon – her ideal watch must have perpetual calendar and moon-phase functions. She says: “I am always in a race against time. Every day, I wonder what wild and wonderful thing I can do with my time on earth.”
