For a generation that may not have watched the first Sex and the City movie, Blahnik’s Hangisi (say “han-gee-see”), the blue pump with the bejewelled buckle, was more than Bradshaw’s chosen wedding shoe until she was jilted by Mr Big; it was also the shoe that later brought them back together.
That pump – still one of the brand’s best-selling styles – has since been produced in more than 100 materials and colourways, and in seven heel heights. It has also evolved into boots, mules, d’Orsays, flats, and even bags and belts.
For its 10th anniversary, it goes back to its roots: being the New York woman’s shoe, in three styles: Cosmopolitan (a cocktail favoured by the four SATC ladies); Love, with a handwritten print; and the 2.0 of the Bradshaw wedding shoe with a new blue buckle. – BG
