WHAT TO WEAR, BUY, DO & KNOW NOW.

Badass Sporty Shades

We weren’t fans of them before. We liked them as little as those darned pretentious small shades that are still rampant on social media. But the more we see Kim K. West in her oversized Oakleys (since March) and how she has been wearing them (’90s body-con sexy, not ’90s grunge), we can’t help but come around. Yes, they are hard to pull off  (even if you’re a pro cyclist, a Hadid or a Jenner). Yes, they shouldn’t be worn by everyone (even if you’re Rita Ora or Princess Anne). That’s why the sporty shades we’ve curated here are less hard-ass sport, more badass, more Kim K. West. (If you haven’t noticed, we’ve even styled our model to look like her.)

Acetate sunglasses, $305, Ray-Ban. Dress, Chloe.

Oakleys are one of two reasons why we like sporty shades now. To make them work the way they do for Kim K., go for an oversized model like the Flight Jacket here. And it’s as useful (nonslip nose pads and detachable earsocks that maintain the glasses’ grip on your face even when you’re sweating buckets on the spin cycle or dance floor) as it is good looking.

Acetate sunglasses, $380. Dress, Halston Heritage, www.theoutnet.com.
