Diane von Furstenberg
WHO: Jonathan Saunders Before coming over as chief creative officer, the Scottish fashion designer helmed his namesake label for close to 13 years. In his first full collection for DVF, he skilfully marries his penchant for colourful prints and fluid dresses with the label’s signature ’70s detailing and feminine silhouettes. Result? Vibrant graphic prints and contrasting colours on flowy wrap dresses, asymmetrical skirts, and oversized kimono-inspired coats.
Christian Dior
WHO: Maria Grazia Chiuri For the first time in 70 years, the Parisian fashion house has appointed a female creative director, and here’s what to know about her: She’s Italian, she spent 17 years at Valentino (eight as co-creative director with Pierpaolo Piccioli), and from what we saw at the recent Spring ’17 show, she’s now all for girl power. Her debut collection is for the feminist who just can’t seem to give up pretty. The star of the show was a white statement
Saint Laurent
WHO: Anthony Vaccarello Putting his eponymous line on hold, the Belgium-born designer replaces Hedi Slimane as creative director of the Parisian luxury house. His debut collection is full of his famed seductive silhouettes – think ’80s prom looks but shorter, cooler and amped up with loads of sex appeal. Here’s what to expect: micro-mini dresses, deep-cut sweetheart necklines, puffed sleeves, and lots of leather.
