My Reading Room

Founded in 1986 by Anthony Mascolo, a three-time British Hairdresser of the Year who cut his teeth at Toni & Guy, Tigi – the brand and salon – has become the go-to for hair products for edgy styles.

Bed Head, launched in the ’90s to help women and men recreate fashion-forward runway and music video-inspired (remember MTV?) hairstyles, remains one of Tigi’s iconic care and styling ranges. Among its products are Queen Beach, a texture spray for “I just spent a glorious day at the beach” hair; and the celebrated A Hair Stick for Cool People, a handy and innovative wax stick created in 1996 to mattify (unheard of then) and texturise hair so you look like you stumbled out of bed in a good way.

For the first time, the full range is available in Singapore, at Tigi’s first salon here (#B1-02 Orchard Gateway). And Bed Head will also be launching its latest colour collection, Colour Trip – 12 semi-permanent shades that can be mixed for different degrees of daring, from an intense cobalt to a full head of silvery shades. All of them lasting more than 20 washes.
