Berlin-based French artist Christophe Chemin created the alluring print, titled “Impossible True Love”, as well as the other prints featured in Prada’s Fall/ Winter 2016 collection (though he prefers to call them “artworks”). On the surface, the collection appears inspired by vagabonds and sailors. In fact, Christophe’s creations reference history, mythology and pop cultural icons – think Noah’s ark and Sigmund Freud – and renders them as dystopian fantasies. Every piece is an allegory for world problems, including our obsession with social media. Like with all great works of art, one has to read beneath the surface.
