On one special night every year, the fashion cognoscenti steps out en masse to support the next generation of young, sartorial talents at the Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Award runway show. The evening presented collections by six designers from Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand—regional finalists who went through rounds of fashion creation and judging before reaching the Singapore Fashion Week runway. Flanking the illuminated L-shaped catwalk were noted guests like SGFW founder Tjin Lee, uber-stylish doctors June Rin and Loh May-Han, and It girls Karisa Sukamto and Rebecca Eu.
On the opposite side sat movers and shakers of the fashion and luxury industries, alongside Editor-in-Chief, Kenneth Goh, who was spotted arm-in-arm with special guest, Nicole Warne throughout the night. Once the last model took her spot on the finale steps, it was announced that Singapore’s Phua Chun Huen won top prize. Phua walked away with $10,000 cash, $15,000 worth of Swarovski elements and an Istituto Marangoni scholarship, while the rest of the guests made their way to the bar to toast the contestants’ success.
