Lauren Hutton took to the catwalk at Bottega Veneta’s 50th anniversary show with a leather clutch tucked under her arms. It wasn’t an ordinary clutch she was holding onto—the actress first carried it in the 1980 film, American Gigolo. The fact that the clutch still looks modern now is testament to the timelessness of Bottega’s designs. Tomas Maier chose to honour that by relaunching the bag and naming it after Hutton. Aptly christened “The Lauren 1980,” the bag’s design is unchanged, save for a wide-zipped pocket and the addition of a metal plaque bearing its new name on the inside.
