See eye-to-eye: silver is now number one, as brilliant glints of foil lashes take over lids.
FADE TO BLACK
Growing darkness, taking dawn: smokey eyes with ink-black lips make an intense look great for parties, and it was the perfect way to offset baby bangs and the sensual experience that was the Marni F/W 2019 showcase. Creative Director Francesco Risso was quoted by Vogue saying the show was “Hereticism but on a different level” — a sensory, pleasurable exercise sans the guilt. The not-so-nuanced dark lipstick is also more romantic and less goth, when brown eyeliner is smudged for a devil-may-care effect. Skin is still a focus, so prep your glowy base real good and highlight high points on your cheeks and forehead. A soft bob-cut is tomboy yet well-loved with hair shine that’ll take you into the night.
QUICK TIPS
1 Conceal, don’t feel. Simply tap concealer under eyes and problem areas then blend well.
2 For a soft smokey blend-out, just use your finger. Do your base after if you’re worried about fallouts.
3 No dark lip liner? Experiment with a soft eyeliner instead — it also works.
