FAVOURITE GETA WAY MV: There are too many! The islands around Krabi and the Italian and Corsican coasts.

WHAT TO WEAR MV: No more than 10 items. I have a complete wardrobe that takes me from day to night, with a multitude of options. I can mix and match and create many looks. I only wear Marie France Van Damme, and it can all fit into a little travel bag.

ABSOLUTE ESSENTIALS MV: A long kaftan I can wear day or night, a swimsuit that can also double as a body suit for the evening and my ‘Michi’ cardigan made of silk modal, which is perfect for cool evenings.

NEED IT NOW MV: The ‘boho chic’ dress.

PAMPER TIME MV: The Amanpuri Spa. I love Clockwise from above: Marie France Van Damme; the Amanpuri Spa ; Chanel’s lip gloss; Marie France Van Damme’s ‘Michi’ cardigan their body scrub and wrap. Aman has their own range of creams and oil that use natural essences, and I adore their lavender and neroli blends. The views from all the rooms are breathtaking.

How would you describe your personal style? MV: Simple, yet quite sophisticated. Always dressed for all circumstances (one cannot go wrong with simplicity). I just dress up or down with a few accessories, so I don’t feel misplaced.

What do you love about travel? MV: Travel is my great source of inspiration. It allows me to do the work I love and means I also get to visit my friends who are scattered all across the globe!
