Ever since he laid eyes on her, Prince Harry has been in hot pursuit of actress and UN Women’s advocate Meghan Markle. So, what are the chances of a royal wedding?

He’s been nicknamed prince Charming, and it’s not hard to see why. Prince Harry has been pulling out all the stops to show 35-year-old Meghan Markle that he’s very into her.

After years of being a dashing royal bachelor, the 32-year-old has found palm-sweating, heart-palpitating love.

From professing his devotion in one of the most epic statements to ever come out of Kensington palace, to whisking the Suits actress away on a cosy Nordic rendezvous, there’s no doubt the former military man is completely besotted with his main squeeze.

Even their friends can tell their relationship is moving towards wedding bells.

“He is absolutely besotted (with Meghan),” said a friend close to the extremely eligible prince. “We’ve never seen him so happy!”

Whirlwind Rendezvous

Since going public with their romance last year, the pair have criss-crossed the globe together, and introduced each other to their loved ones.

Over the Christmas break, Harry whisked Meghan away to Norway to see the Northern lights, and the couple visited his favourite Swiss ski resort, Verbier, for Valentine’s Day.

According to a royal insider, the pair have been “inseparable” in recent months, spending plenty of quality time holed up in Harry’s two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington palace grounds.

“They are really just enjoying spending time together,” the source tells, adding that an engagement is “certainly one possible outcome”.

“It just feels very natural for them both,” the insider continues. “It feels easy – like they’ve known each other for a long time.”

If loved-up new photos are any indication of just how well their relationship is going, then things look to be going swell. After all, the couple have much in common.

From sharing beanies to donning the same jewellery, to their strong humanitarian work and cohesive outlook on life, it’s easy to see all signs point to a Big Fat royal Wedding.

Her Majesty’s Permission

While it seems only a matter of time before prince Harry puts a big ol’ sparkler on Meghan’s finger, he won’t only have to ask his girlfriend’s father for her hand in marriage. Before they can start planning their royal wedding, he’ll need the approval of one very special person first.

As the fifth-in-line to the British throne, Harry will have to gain the permission of none other than his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

It’s not just a sign of respect, but is in accordance with a law first established as the royal Marriages act 1772, which can see the 90-year-old deny a family member the chance to marry their chosen beloved.

It’s unlikely the monarch will say no — particularly as reports back in December claimed her to be “fully supportive” of her grandson’s blossoming relationship with Meghan. Still, a meeting with The Queen may be a while off yet. After all, Kate Middleton didn’t meet Her Majesty until she was five years into her relationship with prince William.

For now, sources are suggesting that Meghan is thinking of quitting her day job for a royal role. She currently films her hit legal drama in Toronto, while he lives in london.

Whether she hangs up her suit for good or not, we for one wouldn’t be at all surprised if this relationship ended in marriage. After all, the signs are clear that for Harry, Meghan is his princess already.
