EDITOR’S NOTE

THE POWER OF HARD WORK

Portrait of Tammy Strobel

As I write this note, I am reminded of the words of retired American football player Jerry Rice: “Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I will do what others can’t.”

The personalities we’ve featured in this issue are truly the embodiment of this quote. They’ve slogged long enough in the shadows (for some, even decades) and deserve their current place in the sun. In today’s world, the timeline for success is incredibly warped. If you don’t achieve results in three or four years, the world immediately categorises you as a has-been. I would like to remind you that that’s not the case. Success comes in many forms, and our ability to rise from failure – “fall down seven times, get up eight” – has been proven to the best possible indicator of future favourable outcomes.

So, do today what others won’t, and I promise you that when tomorrow comes, you’ll be doing the kind of work and achieve the kind of success that others can’t. Enjoy the issue.
