Singapore’s first taste of German composer Richard Wagner’s works will be an Asian rendition of The Flying Dutchman. Staged by the Richard Wagner Association (Singapore), the opera is about a man who is doomed to sail the seas until he finds a faithful woman. According to theatre director Glen Goie, shadow puppetry and wayang elements will be used to draw audiences into the protagonist’s world. Runs Oct 23-30 at Victoria Theatre.
