Chewing gum is the preferred medium of Italian artist Maurizio Savini, who has worked with the material for the past 25 years. Using mainly cream and strawberry gum for the majority of his oeuvre, he is also known to dye untreated gum in various colours to create his pieces – over the years, they have evolved from vivid pink and mosaic sculptures to pictorial multi-coloured works. Savini’s solo exhibition, Forbidden World, is on from Sept 29 to Dec 8 at Partners & Mucciaccia. #02-10, 6 Lock Road (Gillman Barracks)
