Everyday acts that tap your creativity can turn up your happiness, new research suggests. “And applying makeup would be one of the most common ways to flex your creative muscles,” says study author Paul Silvia. To reap the feel-good effect, approach your makeup with that in mind. “Just have fun,” says Chanel makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua. “Reach for a colour you’ve never tried, blend a few together or play up a feature you normally don’t.” Think of it as a beauty project, and have fun experimenting with your palette for an easy burst of joy.
