From a Lilliputian army straight out of Gulliver’s Travels, to a Snow Queen capturing a stone cold Lucky Blue Smith in the Arctic, Moncler’s advertising campaigns are out of this world. Lensed and conceptualised by noted image maker, Annie Leibovitz for the past five seasons, these fantastical images encapsulate Moncler’s tireless quest for innovation and adventure.  This time, however, a different kind of surrealism has been introduced by Liu Bolin. The Chinese artist is the Houdini of the art world, having made a name for himself by disappearing into his surroundings. Clad in a Moncler Doudoune Legere snowsuit created in celebration of his work, Liu stars in the campaign where he artfully fuses into familiar scenes in New York—from Central Park to a time-honoured bookshop. Celebrating the brand’s key messages of transparency, versatility and a metropolitan spirit, Liu’s chameleon-like camouflage blurs the line between reality and surrealism, injecting an element of surprise into the most familiar of environments.
