“Every woman in my life is amazing, but if I had to choose one apart from my mum and sister, it would definitely be Katy Perry. She’s got to be one of the most authentic songwriters in the pop industry today. She taught me to never be afraid of failing, because if you have a dream, you need to go through a journey in order to achieve it. I also admire how she stayed true to her vision with her work, but still manages to have fun while doing it. She’s humble, filial, and just all-round inspiring. It doesn’t hurt that she’s stunningly beautiful as well. She can be my teenage dream any day!”

“Can I say my sister? She’s two years younger than me, and has been through so much since birth. She was born prematurely, which caused her to have weak legs; that led to a plethora of surgeries and therapies to help her walk. Maybe it’s her joyful nature, but watching her grow up, I really admire how she’s able to find the beauty in life despite all those setbacks. She always has a smile on her face.”

“My godsister, Ina Awang. She has a beautiful heart and puts others before herself. She’s the sole breadwinner of her family of three, and has been a caregiver to her aged mum for 11 years, after her father’s passing. Besides handling her responsibilities at home, she works hard at her job in a theatre company, and worked her way up from a ticketing executive to a manager in seven years. She’s always ready to lend a listening ear and has helped me, and even my friends, get through breakups or the passing of a loved one. She’s a shoulder to cry on and gives really good advice. She really is one of the most patient, lovely, and loving people I know.”
