Love Bombing

No one likes to feel like they’re not getting enough love, but is there such a thing as getting too much?

Everyone wants to be swept off their feet by that special someone who instinctively knows when they’re sad, need ice cream or could do with a big warm hug, right? But psychologists warn that this could actually be a form of conditioning, where you’re shown love if you act the way your S.O. wants you to, but when you don’t, it's withdrawn and they punish you.

It can be hard to know when you’re being “love bombed” but, generally speaking, only you can decide when someone’s actions cause you more pain than happiness. Controlling behaviour and emotional abuse are not actions of love, and if that’s the case, it’s better to take a step back, evaluate the situation, and decide if this is someone you really want to be with.
