Innovative solutions for every skin type

Providing new solutions to problem skin has been at the heart of Christina since the family-run operation began in 1982. Eager to escape publicity hype, founder Christina Zehavi and her husband Yossi focused on improving the standards of professional skincare both in the salon and at home. Fast forward a few decades and they are now industry leaders continuing to develop skincare solutions in collaboration with plastic surgeons around the globe. Product lines with results call for toptier R&D facilities and Christina prides itself on using cutting-edge, clinically tested ingredients to treat a multitude of conditions.

Given their nine distinct lines comprising more than 350 products used by over 6,000 cosmeticians in 57 countries, offering viable solutions to an array of concerns is a challenge the brand has embraced. Founder Christina Zehavi says that procedures are employed to ensure that each product complies with strict GMP and ISO certification demands and quality standards. “Our scientists are on top of both the latest scientific developments in the field of active ingredients, and new ones of botanical origin, to create products that deliver optimal, visible and lasting results, promoting clear, younger and healthylooking skin.”

Targeting the biological and environmental effects on the skin is a priority for Zehavi. The former includes genetics, hormones and conditions like diabetes, whereas the latter is determined by climate, UV radiation, free radicals, aggressive products, temperatures, overall health and lifestyle choices. She says, “A compromised skin barrier can mean hypersensitive skin is more prone to irritation than well-balanced skin. Some factors we cannot influence, but many we can.”

A holistic approach was taken when creating the skincare, in which the aftercare has been designed to work with salon treatments for prolonged regeneration and revitalisation. Zehavi says, “We are concerned not only with the immediate effect of treatments, but also with the longlasting results that are to be maintained with a line of home care products.” In terms of a preventative skincare regime, Zehavi recommends thorough cleansing, peeling to remove dead cells and start regeneration and moisturising to optimal levels.

She says that each treatment slows deterioration, strengthens the skin barrier, promotes collagen, elastin formation and cell proliferation. “Consumer safety is our number one priority,” she says. “The first step is correct evaluation of the skin and the best suited treatment, bearing in mind that aggressive ingredients are not always the right solution.” Looking ahead, Christina’s R&D department has readjusted products to comply with the new European directives and US regulations.

They will continue to replace non-green chemistry ingredients, and upgrade existing lines with new actives such as smart delivery systems and surgerylike mimetic actives. Zehavi says, “As a professional cosmetics brand, Christina’s commitment to its customers is ongoing. This dedication involves a full support system that includes in-depth workshops and educational tools aimed at improving professional care.” www.christina-cosmeceuticals.com
