HEESEN YACHTS IS EXPANDING its interior workshop facility in Winterswijk, Gelderland in the Netherlands this September. Established in 1940, Heesen Interiors has been creating luxurious, award-winning interior furniture exclusively for Heesen Yachts for the past 34 years.

A 2,240-square-metre new production space has been created, bringing the total to 8,100 square metres and an enlarged office space will be about 1,000 square metres.

Hiring 30 new employees brings the total workforce of highly-skilled artisans in Winterswijk to 130. The expansion of both the facilities and workforce is a direct response to the increase in size and volume of the yachts being built by Heesen today demanded by the level of sophistication and expertise required to produce interiors.

My Reading Room

For the company, building luxury interiors means handling precious, sometimes irreplaceable materials, and managing a team of highly talented craftsmen. Heesen is one of very few shipbuilders to have an entire in-house department of specialists comprising cabinet-makers, upholsterers, joiners, French polishers, painters, computer numerically controlled (CNC) operators, draftsmen, project managers, engineers and any other experts that custom designs require. It also invests heavily in the acquisition and training of young talent, which Heesen attributes to its award-winning interior creations.
