“THE WORLD’S MOST CAPABLE yacht” will make its global debut at Cannes Yachting Festival (September 10-15), officially introducing Zeelander’s new sister brand DutchCraft to the world.

The 17-metre (55 foot, 9 ins) DutchCraft 56 is everything from exploration platform, toy carrier and sports fisher to party boat, comfortable family cruiser and support vessel.

“During my travels [...] I was inspired to create the DutchCraft 56, the ultimate all-purpose yacht,” said founder Sietse Koopmans, “one with which you can fish, dive, party, relax, explore and store an incredible amount of toys. We purposefully tried to keep the design minimal, and the boat is hassle-free and has low running costs.”

My Reading Room

The spacious flybridge features a large dining table, with seating that converts to a large sun pad to the rear. There is a wet bar and double-width seating at the navigation station. The main deck has a further dining table, wet bar, double-width navigation station seating, and large sun pads on the foredeck. The DutchCraft 56 seats up to 36 guests.

On the lower deck, there is accommodation for up to eight guests, including an en-suite full-beam master cabin. The vast aft deck space by the waterline fulfills different purposes – from fishing platform, to socialising space, to toys and watercraft stowage.

The DutchCraft 56 can reach 40 knots and still has a comfortable ride thanks to the high-performance hull design that cuts through water. With an overall length of 17 metres, a beam of five metres and a draft of under a metre in the jet-propulsion version, this one can even be cruised in shallow waters.
