Diamond jewellery, crocodile skin bags and designer shoes are accoutrements to a woman looking like a million bucks during the day, but at night, in the bedroom, the glam is gone – or is it? This year end, consider for the missus the dark horse on the fancy gift spectrum – exquisite sleepwear.

Look to the new Agent Provocateur store at Marina Bay Sands; its racy lingerie makes one do a double take. This is carried over to its sleepwear, which costs up to $5,330 for a demicouture Deziree dressing gown in lace.

For a softer colour palette, the new Maisonzhou collection at The Beauty Candy Apothecary in Mandarin Gallery offers elegant, neutral pieces in machine-washable stretch silk.

The material keeps the body cool and comfortable during sleep, with prices starting from $140 for a sleep bra and going up to $495 for a chinoiserie-inspired Qiang robe.

Depending on your choice, sleep may come easily – or with extreme difficulty.
