The significantly reduced spending of China’s luxury consumers in recent years hasn’t stopped Vacheron Constantin from producing a dragon-themed watch. The Traditionnelle 14-Day Tourbillon “Dragon” is a masterful showcase of the manu facture’s metiers d’art. Almost every surface on the 42mm pink gold case is covered in a handengraved oriental cloud motif, including the inner edges of the lugs. Adorning the black dial is an 18K gold dragon and a pair of clouds – also engraved by hand. It houses the same Calibre 2260 as the original Traditionnelle 14-Day Tourbillon, which uses four barrels mounted in coupled pairs to give it its remarkably long power reserve. Only eight pieces have been made, and it’s available only at Vacheron Constantin’s Asia-Pacific boutiques.
