RESTORE FIRMNESS.

As you age, the skin’s support structures break down, leaving parts of the dermis (deeper skin layer) thinner and less elastic. Shiseido skin researchers have discovered that the stem cells in the fatty layer underneath the dermis are able to transform into dermal cells, which then help to fill up the thinned-out areas in the dermis. The Shiseido Bio-performance Liftdynamic Serum, $145 (30ml), contains rosemary phyto-essence that draws these fat stem cells into the dermis so they can transform into dermal cells and restructure the skin, leaving you with firmer skin and less pronounced wrinkles

1 “Frizz-control shampoos tend to leave my hair flat but Silkpro Frizz Control Shampoo, from $6.90, left my tresses light. It’s also free of sulphates and silicone, and protects hair colour, so I don’t need to buy a shampoo for coloured hair.”

2 “I am a big fan of eyeshadow sticks as they’re so easy to use. The Dior Diorshow Colour & Contour Eyeshadow & Liner Duo, $58 (available in five shades), has an eyeshadow stick on one end for a subtle shimmery finish, and a crayon-like eyeliner on the other for a matte look. It’s so soft, it doesn’t hurt my eyelids.”

3 “I keep Laneige Water Science Mist in Skin Relief [Soothing], $28 (120ml), on hand in the office and spritz it over my face whenever my sensitised skin turns red and itchy. Made with skinsoothing cypress tree extract, it also works as a toner.”

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops – Lightening and Darkening, $29.90 each.

WHAT The concentrated liquid pigment is designed to be mixed into your liquid foundation to adjust the shade. Pour out the usual amount of foundation onto your palm, add half to one drop, and mix with your finger or a brush.

VERDICT “The Darkening drops are great for when your skin tone is a little darker than usual after time spent in the sun. Half a drop blended seamlessly into my foundation and made it a shade darker. It’s also good for contouring. You can use the Lightening drops as a highlighter.” – Simone.
