Design lovers and house-proud homeowners are no strangers to Swiss brand Vitra’s range of classic and contemporary furniture, lighting and accessories, as the brand has been at the forefront of creating trendsetting designs targeted at discerning urban dwellers.

So it’s great news that the brand, with over 80 years of experience in 20th-century design, decided to establish its first stand-alone store in South-east Asia here, at Vitra by Grafunkt.

In collaboration with local retailer Grafunkt, Vitra’s newly opened 2,000sqf store is designed by Nathan Yong, local designer and co-founder of Grafunkt.

Sleek, stylish furniture is housed in this chic and trendy shop. Its vibrant neon-lit signage at the entrance sets the tone, and you can expect fun yet elegant pieces for the modern home. Inside, living-room and dining-room settings offer easy visualisation of what Vitra’s latest collection — including iconic armchairs and sofas designed by renowned designers and architects such Antonio Citterio, George Nelson and Jay Osgerby — will look like at home.

Nathan created a dedicated area in the showroom where Vitra can showcase its versatile and colourful outdoor furniture, too. He chose patterned floor tiles by Onlewo that catches the eye and sets the space apart from the rest of the shop, which is cladded in wood-look flooring tiles laid in a chevron pattern. Greenery is also added to introduce an outdoorsy element to the space.

Also, spot interesting silhouettes on the walls, as lights accentuate the designs of Vitra’s hanging art installations, like the Plywood Mobile designed by Charles and Ray Eames. If you’re looking for accent pieces and decor accessories that’ll complement and complete the look of your home, Vitra by Grafunkt carries stationery, clocks, wall shelves, lighting fixtures and even quirky figurines.
