1 Diptyque Une Nuit Chez Diptyque set, $145. These three Christmassy candles give off some serious Nutcracker vibes. The Epices et Delices Candle (red) smells of freshly baked gingerbread, honey and star anise; the Le Roi Sapin Candle (green) smells of pine and patchouli; the Un Encens Etoile Candle (blue) smells of elemi, cloves, incense and vanilla. The detailed illustrations of a theatre on the paper packaging are courtesy of Pierre-Marie Agin, a French graphic designer whose works have been snapped up by Musee des Arts Decoratifs (Museum of Decorative Arts) in Paris, France.

2 Maison Francis Kurkdjian Mon Beau Sapin scented candle (price unavailable). We love the shimmering candle holder with the subtle prints of trees, animals and snowflakes – try repurposing it as a classy catch-all for knick-knacks. The soothing scent of balsam and pine captures the festive mood perfectly.

3 Estee Lauder Holiday 2016 Solid Perfume Collection Glittering Globe and Wise Owl, $630 each. Estee Lauder’s collectible solid perfumes, which are launched yearly, are tent-pole attractions (past editions have reportedly been resold on eBay for US$900 – almost S$1,246!) and it’s no different this year. Our faves among the 2016 editions: the blue-andgold Glittering Globe and the Wise Owl, both designed by photographer and jeweller Monica Rich Kosann. They come inscribed with the word “wisdom” on the inside and house the brand’s Pleasures solid perfume.

4 Cire Trudon Bethleem scented candle, $150. Inspired by the Nativity, the amber candle holder, and spicy-warm scent of pepper and tonka beans put us in the festive mood right away.
