Favourite living thing: Doug, my 10-year-old white mini schnauzer
He’s handsome, smart, funny, protective and loves my cooking. I have the best dog in the world – but of course every dog owner thinks that way too!
Must-have makeup item: NYX Wonder Pencil
I haven’t stepped out of my front door without brown eyeliner and concealer since I was 19. Recently, I added a third musthave makeup item – the NYX Wonder Pencil – to my list because my freckles have multiplied over the years. It really lives up to its name: just dot precisely over any off ending spots for immediate, effective camouflage. It’s super affordable too!
Fangirl of: Maddie Ziegler
I can’t take my eyes off the pintsized star of singer-songwriter Sia’s music videos for Chandelier, Elastic Heart and Big Girls Cry, which garnered more than 1.5 billion Youtube views. Just 13, Ziegler’s disturbingly dark contemporary dance style, coupled with her insanely expressive face, gives a different spin to the term “teen dance sensation”, and earned her a spot on Time’s “The 30 Most Influential Teens of 2015” list. I can’t wait to see her movie debut in upcoming major motion picture The Book of Henry!
Essential app: Sing! Karaoke by Smule I’m such a shameless karaoke enthusiast that my stage name is “mic snatcher”. This app puts thousands of minusone tracks at my fingertips and transforms my iPhone into my personal karaoke studio. Filters help polish up my voice, while the record function lets me save songs I’ve sung. I can even share my recordings with my friends via Whatsapp and e-mail – much to their dismay.
Favourite eatery: Open Farm Community (130E Minden Road, tel: 6471-0306, www.open-farmcommunity. com)
This restaurant is totally charming, with its varied lifestyle off erings spanning mod-European cuisine, urban farming, lawn bowling, sculpture garden and artisanal retail finds. I love carbs, so my top pick is the strozzapreti with 48 hour Barolo braised oxtail. I just wish those frilly ombre outdoor umbrellas were for sale – they’d be perfect on my patio.
