My Reading Room
Tyvek resembles crumpled tissue paper (the type used at stores, not the sort for blowing your nose), feels like plastic, and is a kind of plastic – flash-spun high-density polyethylene fibres, to be exact. Seen more at construction sites than on clothing racks, the recyclable material is extremely lightweight yet highly durable, washable yet water-resistant, tearand fray-proof but possible to cut to size, and resistant to mildew and chemical agents. Fyber Forma – available at Actually (#03-18 Orchard Gateway) – reimagines it for bomber jackets and everyday bags (backpacks, shoppers, totes) so they can take a beating when you need them to.
