Call it haute couture without breaking the bank, Givenchy Atelier is a new limited edition capsule collection for women and men that consists of contemporary separates and tailored day wear.

It incorporates the elements of Givenchy’s famous haute couture know-how, including voluminous construction, embellishments, and that certain unexpectedness — like a white lace blazer with a peek-a-boo effect.

And yes, artistic director Clare Waight Keller inserts some interesting accessories into the lineup. From a colour-block belt bag to a mini nylon backpack with an oversized bow, all bear Givenchy’s distinctive label underscored with red line – a nod to the founder’s way of signing his sketches.

In a monochromatic palette and a medley of the brand’s iconic fabrics, such as georgette, guipure and lace, they are created for a wardrobe that lasts. From $650, at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and Paragon. – VW
